The Earlham Quakers picked up another HCAC win against Mt. St. Joseph 10-1 on Tuesday.
The Quakers took an early lead in the first inning. Eric Elkus singled on a 2-2 count in the first inning, scoring one run.
Mt. St. Joseph evened things up at one in the top of the third inning. Roman Rothwell’s sac fly scored one run for Mt. St. Joseph.
The Quakers took the lead for good with one run in the fourth inning. In the fourth Cody Krumlauf singled off of Mike Hilliard, driving in one run.
The Quakers scored four runs in the fifth inning. Quakers scored on a single by Addison Robertson and a single.
Kyle Gorman earned the win for the Quakers. He threw six innings, allowing one run, five hits, striking out three, and walking zero. Two relievers helped the Quakers close out the victory. Howie Smith threw two innings.
Mike Hilliard took the loss for Mt. St. Joseph. He pitched four innings, allowing two runs, four hits, striking out four, and walking one.
The Quakers had 11 hits in the game. Eric Elkus, Cody Krumlauf, and Addison Robertson each collected multiple hits for Earlham. Addison Robertson, Cody Krumlauf, and Eric Elkus each collected two hits to lead the Quakers. Earlham tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Matt Barger led the way with three.
