THREE RED WOLVES EARN RSC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONORS
FLORENCE, Ky. – Three Indiana University East student-athletes earned River States Conference athlete of the week awards in their respective sports, the league announced April 4.
Seth Reynolds (SO/Eaton, Ohio) is the Men’s Track Athlete of the Week. Reynolds won the 110 hurdles at the Hanover College Invitational on April 1. His time of 14.89 seconds hit the NAIA “B” qualifying standard, making him the first Red Wolf athlete to qualify for nationals in both indoor and outdoor in the same year. Reynolds competed in the NAIA indoor national championship this spring, earning NAIA All-American honors in the 60-meter hurdles.
Tyler Pearson (SO/Richmond, Ind.) is the Men’s Golfer of the Week. Pearson picked up the award for the second time this season after placing third at the Lindsey Wilson Spring Fling and first at the IU East Spring Invitational. Pearson had two rounds in the 60s and two more in the low 70s in his four rounds played on the week. He had two sub-par rounds of 70 and 68 at Lindsey Wilson. Pearson followed that up with rounds of 66 and 74 at the Red Wolves’ home tournament.
Bre Nowak (SO/Chippewa Falls, Wis.) is the Women’s Golfer of the Week. Nowak placed eighth of 42 players at the LWC event. She fired rounds of 85 and 77 on the par-72 layout.
