NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The 27th-ranked University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team heads east for a single matchup this weekend, taking on Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.

On The Hokies
- After starting the season 7-2, Virginia Tech has lost its last six matches, all in conference play.
- The Hokies are led in the rankings by No. 92 Natalie Novotna (11-3) and No. 102 Francesca Fusinato (10-5).
- Notre Dame leads the all-time series against Virginia Tech 10-0, including 8-0 under head coach Jay Louderback. The Irish defeated the Hokies 4-3 last season.
Last Time Out
Notre Dame went 1-1 over the weekend, dropping a 4-3 loss to NC State before rebounding in a 5-2 victory over Miami at home. Against the Hurricanes, the Irish won the doubles point, then got singles wins from juniors Allison Miller and Brooke Broda to go ahead 3-0. Miami picked up a win at No. 6, but senior Mary Closs shut the door with a three-set win to improve to 10-3 in dual matches and 4-2 in ACC play. Senior Monica Robinson also won for the Irish.
The Irish are a collective 78-26 in dual singles matches this season. Junior Allison Miller leads the Irish with a 15-3 dual mark, followed by freshman Zoe Spence at 14-4 and senior Monica Robinson at 13-3. Also with 10 wins this season are senior Mary Closs (10-3) and junior Brooke Broda (10-4)
The Irish dropped spots in the latest Oracle/ITA Division I Women’s Tennis Rankings this week, coming in at No. 27.
