RICHMOND, Ind. – Dustin Reynolds, a recent Delta High School (Ind.) graduate, has signed a letter of intent to compete in track and field at Indiana University East starting with the 2016-17 school year.
Red Wolves coach David Sanders announced the signing July 7.
Reynolds was Delta’s track and field team MVP in 2016. He also received the program’s mental attitude award in 2013 and 2015. He was part of Delta’s conference champion and regional qualifier 4×400 meter relay this past spring.
“Dustin is going to come in and work hard. That’s one thing I will never have to question about him,” Sanders said. “I look for him to bring that workhorse mentality and for it to become contagious to everyone on the team.”
Reynolds is the son of Bruce and Melissa Reynolds. He plans to major in accounting.
He wrote that he chose IU East for “personal relationships with the professors and a great degree for a fraction of the price.”
Reynolds joins Nick Gilmore of Anderson, Ben Willey of Knightstown, Tony Murphy of Floyd Central, Salvador Campos of West Noble and Hayden Jarvis of Delta in IU East’s 2015-16 men’s cross country and track and field recruiting class.
IU East is an NAIA program. The Red Wolf cross country and track and field programs have been represented at the NAIA national meet six times in eight years of NAIA competition.
