The Richmond Jazz are set to host the Licking County Settlers on Jun. 30.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM at Don McBride Stadium in Richmond, IN.

The Settlers are 13-10, the Jazz are 7-15.

 

LAST TIME OUT

Licking County is currently riding a six-game win streak that began on Jun. 24th with a 7-5 win on the road against the Hamilton Joes. The most recent game for the Setters was a 10-2 win on Jun. 29th against the Lake Erie Monarchs.

Richmond was on a three-game win streak after a sweep of Irish Hills on Jun. 25th and taking game-one from Lorain County on Jun. 28th. However, the Jazz dropped game two at Lorain County, 13-3.

 

LICKING COUNTY SETTLERS

The Settlers’ (13-10) team batting average for the 2016 season is .275. Mason McClellan leads Licking County in batting with a .350 average, 60 at-bats, 9 runs, 21 hits, has batted 12 runs in this season, and has an OBP of .443. Cody Maw and Kaleb Kirk have spent the most time on the mound this season, each having thrown 25 innings. Maw has compiled a 3-1 record with a 2.52 ERA. Maw has given up 18 hits, 7 runs (all earned), 2 base-on-balls, and has sruckout 22 batters. Kirk has a 2-1 record after giving up 27 hits, 17 runs (15 earned), one walk, and has thrown 18 strikeouts. Ethan Walker and Bryan Cruse are not strangers to the mound either. Walker and Cruse combine for a total of 42.2 innings thrown, and both have ERAs under 2.2. Licking County is coached by Joe Noro.

 

RICHMOND JAZZ

The Jazz (7-15) currently bat .241 as a team. Bobby Thompson leads currently leads the way for the Jazz with a .314 average  in 86 at-bats, scoring 13 runs off 22 hits, and batting 17 runs in. Chayse Hood and Dylan Bradshaw each carry a .333 average, but both have fewer than 10 at-bats. Pete Wissel continues to show strong improvement on the mound. Wissel has put in 14 innings of work, coming out of the bullpen in all five games pitched. Wissel has a 1.93 ERA, and an 0-1 record. He has given up seven hits, five runs (three earned), and has only given up five bases-on-balls. John Troll has spent more time out on the hill than any other Richmond pitcher. Troll has thrown 25.2 innings in five games, all of which Troll started. Troll has given up 37 hits, 25 runs (21 earned), 15 base-on-balls, and has thrown 14 strikeouts. Troll is 1-3 with a 7.36 ERA. On Jun. 28th, Richmond split a doubleheader with Lorain County. Richmond took the first game 6-2. The Jazz scored three runs in the first inning off an RBI double by Brennan Laird, an RBI single by Thompson, and an RBI single by Slater Rush. Laird ended up with three RBIs and three hits for the game. Troll took the win for his first of the season. He gave up two rus over seven innings, striking out two, walking two, and giving up eight hits. The Richmond Jazz dropped game two. Nick Horvath suffered his first loss of the year after allowing six runs in 3 2/3 innings, as well as walking two and striking out two.
