Richmond Jazz | Laird’s double propels the Richmond Jazz past the Lorain County Ironmen, 6-2

The Richmond Jazz (7-14) jumped on the Lorain County Ironmen (9-12) early on their way to a 6-2 win on Tuesday at The Pipeyard in seven innings, scoring three runs in the first inning.

The Richmond Jazz scored in the first on an RBI double by Brennan Laird, an RBI single by Bobby Thompson, and an RBI single by Slatter Rush.

Laird racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Richmond Jazz.

Luis Jimenez got on base three times in the game for the Lorain County Ironmen. He singled in the third and seventh innings.

John Troll got the win, running his season record to 1-3. He allowed two runs over seven innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered eight hits.

Russell Lamovec couldn’t get it done on the rubber for the Lorain County Ironmen, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
