IU East | 47 Red Wolves on KIAC All-Conference Scholar-Athlete list


Forty-seven Indiana University East student-athletes earned Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference Scholar-Athlete distinction for the 2015-16 school year.

To earn the award, student-athletes must maintain a grade-point average of 3.25 or higher, compete in a KIAC championship sport and be nominated by their athletic department.

IU East’s All-Conference Scholar-Athlete total is the highest in program history. More than 40 percent of all Red Wolf student-athletes made the list. The IU East athletic department earned a 3.07 cumulative GPA for the 2015-16 school year.

Seven Red Wolf seniors earned the All-Conference Scholar-Athlete award for the fourth time: Nick Bollenbacher (Cedar Lake, Ind./Hanover Central High School) and Jason Ray (Martinsville, Ind./Martinsville High School) from the men’s basketball program, cross country/track and field athletes Alexis Hall (Dillsboro, Ind./South Dearborn High School) and Kyle Hall (Dillsboro, Ind./South Dearborn High School), tennis players Connor Kramer (Shirley, Ind./Eastern Hancock High School) and Ethan Taulbee (Camden, Ohio/Preble Shawnee High School), and volleyball player Mallory Livingston (Union City, Ohio/Mississinawa Valley High School).

Junior cross country/track and field athletes Morgan Stanley (Winchester, Ind./Winchester Community High School) and Clint Swanson (Vevay, Ind./Switzerland County High School) and junior tennis player Brittany Hethcox (New Castle, Ind./New Castle High School) made the All-Conference Scholar-Athlete Team for the third time.

Nine sophomore Red Wolves made the All-Conference Scholar-Athlete Team for the second time: men’s basketball players Lucas Huffman (Indianapolis, Ind./Franklin Central High School) and Brad Hunt (North Vernon, Ind./Jennings County High School), women’s basketball players Kaitlin Dobbins (Anderson, Ind./Lapel High School), Bailey Dreiman (Vincennes, Ind./Rivet High School), Tia King (Indianapolis, Ind./Warren Central High School), Kristen Miller (Ottawa, Ohio/Ottawa-Glandorf High School) and Keragan Niehoff (Rushville, Ind./Rushville Consolidated High School), cross country/track and field athletes Adam Klipstine (Ansonia, Ohio/Arcanum High School) and Mackenzie Boles (Lapel, Ind./Lapel High School), and tennis player Seth Gard (Richmond, Ind./Northeastern High School).

Men’s golf: Lance Hackman (Salem, Ind./Brownstown Central High School)

Women’s golf: Olivia Houck (Hagerstown, Ind./Hagerstown High School), Bridgette Moystner (Winchester, Ind./Winchester Community High School), Breanna Nowak (Chippewa Falls, Wis./Chippewa Falls Senior High School) and Mackenzie Spurrier (Richmond, Ind./Richmond High School).

Men’s tennis: Keaton Akers (Terre Haute, Ind./Terre Haute North Vigo High School), Seth Gard, Connor Kramer, Alex Shelley (Avon, Ind./Avon High School), Colton Shipley (Gas City, Ind./Mississinewa High School) and Ethan Taulbee .

Women’s tennis: Brittany Hethcox, Rebecca Lockhart (Oxford, Ohio/Talawanda High School) and Sarah Lockhart (Oxford, Ohio/Talawanda High School).
