Local Boys’ Basketball Feb. 9th

Bob Allen and the Knightstown Panthers went 2-0 this past week. On Friday, Knightstown traveled to Blue River and won 54-44. Earlier this season, the Panthers lost to the Vikings in the Henry County tournament 64-60. Then the Panthers hosted Mid-Hoosier Conference opponent North Decatur on Saturday and won 51-27 after outscoring the Chargers 20-0 in the third quarter. Knightstown is now 8-5 this season and will host Northeastern on February 10th (7:30 PM), then play on the road at Greenfield-Central on the 13th (7:30 PM) and Edinburgh on the 15th at 12:30 PM.

New Castle was only able to play one game this past week due to weather conditions on Tuesday. On Saturday night New Castle was able to beat Liberty Christian 58-55. New Castle is now 6-7, and will play two games this week. On Monday they will make up the Huntington North game at 7:30 PM and the New Palestine game on Wednesday at 7:30 PM.

Shenandoah also was only able to play one of their two scheduled games this past week. The Randolph Southern game scheduled for February 4th will now be played February 10th at 7:30 PM. On Saturday, the Raiders traveled to Cambridge City Lincoln and lost 71-65 against the Golden Eagles. Shenandoah is now 7-7 and will play Randolph Southern on Monday and at Lapel on February 13th at 7:30 PM.

Tri High was 0-2 for the week. Friday the Titans hosted the Eastern Hancock Royals and lost 62-44. Then on Saturday Tri went to Union County and fell to the Patriots 80-42. Tri High is now 0-14 and will play at home against Northeastern on February 15th at 1:30 PM.

Blue River was 1-1 at home for the week. Friday they lost to Knightstown 54-44. Then on Saturday, the Vikings played Southern Wells and won 62-50. Blue River is now 9-8 and only have three scheduled games remaining. The Vikings will host Centerville on February 13th at 7:30 PM.

Eastern Hancock also had problems with the weather this week. Their February 5th Mid-Hoosier Conference matchup with Indian Creek has been rescheduled for February 24th. On Friday the Royals played at Tri and won 62-44. Eastern Hancock is 10-3 and will play at 7:30 PM at Hauser on February 13th and host Union County at 1:30 PM on February 15th.

Hagerstown is now 9-5. The Tigers played at home on Saturday and lost to Northeastern 60-40. Hagerstown will play at Union Modoc on February 13th at 7:30 PM.
